Marathon Training

Posted by on Monday, May 24, 2004 (PST)

What is the minimum amount of training I must commit to in order to run a marathon?
The amount of training each individual may need to complete a marathon is very specific to an individual. However, as a rule of thumb, the number of hours you train in your peak training weeks should be greater than the number of hours that you expect it will take for you to complete your marathon, at minimum. Remember, you will also need a few weeks between the peak training weeks and your race to allow your body to recover. The MBS Fitness program gives you the exact time, distance and pace for each workout to prepare you to run your best marathon or your first.
